Software Engineering Practitioner

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Java, Spring framework, and cloud-native development, particularly on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The successful candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, and Spring JDBC.

They will also develop and integrate RESTful and SOAP web services, ensuring the application is scalable, maintainable, and meets performance benchmarks.

Additionally, they will build and deploy cloud-native applications using GCP services like Cloud Run, Redis, Pub/Sub, Kubernetes, Cloud Scheduler, and others.

They will work on APIGEE API gateway for API management and integration (preferred), and implement and manage enterprise SSO (Single Sign-On) solutions using ADFS, SAML, and other cloud-based security protocols.

The successful candidate will also develop data access layers using ORM frameworks like Hibernate and JPA, write complex SQL queries, and manage databases like Oracle, MSSQL, or other RDBMS.

They will create and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Tekton, SonarQube, and GitHub, and work on continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment in cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, and work closely with product owners and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric features.

They will troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE backend development.
  • Deep expertise in the Spring Platform - Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring JDBC, Spring Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud-native development using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proficient in RESTful and SOAP web services development.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD practices, especially with Tekton, SonarQube, and GitHub.
  • Experience working in Agile SCRUM environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
