Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the design and management of our backend architecture for a scalable web/mobile application.

This role demands expertise with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB, as well as strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices.

  1. Design and Manage Backend Architecture: Plan, design, and manage the entire backend architecture for a scalable app from planning to deployment.
  2. User Authentication and Authorization: Develop user authentication and authorization using industry-standard methods.
  3. Chat and Messaging System: Implement logic, user discovery algorithms, and preference-based filters in a chat and messaging system with Firebase for real-time messaging and delivery/read receipts.
  4. Push Notifications: Integrate Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications on iOS and Android.
  5. Database Management: Design and manage the MongoDB schema optimized for high-performance matchmaking and chat use cases.
  6. Security Measures: Ensure secure tokenized API access using industry best practices.
  7. Media Uploads: Handle media uploads securely via cloud storage.
  8. Analytics Hooks: Implement analytics hooks for key user actions and behavior tracking.
  9. Admin APIs: Build admin APIs for user moderation, reporting, and flagging systems.
  10. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and maintain API performance, database health, error logs, and uptime metrics.
  11. Infrastructure Setup: Collaborate with DevOps to set up CI/CD, monitoring, and auto-scaling backend infrastructure.
  12. Environment Configuration: Manage environment configurations securely with secrets handling.
  13. Fallback Systems: Build fallback systems to handle network failure, retries, and message queueing if needed.
  14. Coding Standards: Write clean, modular, and testable code with unit/integration tests for critical backend logic.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in backend development with Node.js, Firebase, and MongoDB.
  • Strong understanding of token-based authentication and security practices.
  • Experience building scalable, real-time chat or messaging systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage and services.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring, and application scaling.
  • Clear communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
