Job Title: Network Engineer

About the Role:

VnB consulting services is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure components, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network infrastructure components, including LANs, WANs, and VPNs.
  • Configure and manage network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Implement network security best practices to ensure data security and network integrity.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to maintain optimal network uptime and stability.
  • Document network configurations and procedures for future reference and maintenance.
  • Participate in network capacity planning and scaling initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless network integration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Network Engineer or similar role.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining network infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.) and routing/switching principles.
  • Experience with network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Experience with network security best practices and configuration of security solutions.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting methodologies and tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, SNMP).
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and ability to identify and diagnose network issues.
  • Familiarity with network automation tools (e.g., Python scripting, Cisco IOS configuration management) (a plus).
  • Strong understanding of network documentation standards and practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • A desire to learn new technologies and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
