Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead to shape the future of our Linux distribution by applying strong technical leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving world-class engineering practices.

This role involves defining, estimating, and driving execution of projects in collaboration with product and engineering leadership, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

You will lead, mentor, and scale a distributed team of software engineers, fostering an inclusive and high-performing engineering culture. Additionally, you will promote best-in-class engineering practices and lead by example with hands-on technical contributions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience leading or managing a team of software engineers in a distributed setup.
  • Deep expertise with Linux distributions and packaging systems (e.g., deb, rpm).
  • Strong technical background in one or more of the following areas:
  • Linux system architecture
  • Boot process
  • Programming languages/toolchains: Java, GCC, Python, Rust, Go
  • Hardware platforms: ARM, RISC-V
  • Familiarity with open-source processes and community engagement.
