Job Title: HPC System Administrator

Main Responsibilities:

  • We are seeking an experienced HPC system administrator to administer High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) clusters.
  • This role is responsible for managing user accounts for HPC onboarding and offboarding, ensuring seamless access and compliance with organizational policies.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in creating and maintaining Amazon Machine Image (AMI) images in AMI accounts, streamlining the infrastructure management process.
  • A strong background in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems on HPC clusters is essential for this position.
  • The selected candidate will support HPC components and native services by coordinating with respective providers, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • This role also involves providing AWS Managed Active Directory support and management, ensuring a secure and efficient operational framework.
  • Ongoing upgrades to the HPC platform and related components are necessary to maintain peak performance and ensure alignment with evolving requirements.
  • The successful candidate will implement and maintain compliance controls, including regular audits and corrective actions, to guarantee adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaboration with other teams is crucial for testing and migrating engineering applications, promoting a culture of cooperation and knowledge sharing.
  • This position requires effective management of job schedulers and node provisioning tools, optimizing resource allocation and utilization.
  • Troubleshooting system issues and providing technical support is an essential aspect of this role, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Monitoring system performance and ensuring optimal operation of the HPC environment is critical, driving continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Progressive experience in HPC system administration, preferably in a Red Hat/CentOS Linux environment.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud formation templates to build infrastructure for HPC and storage solutions.
