Job Summary:

The role of NAVISYS Engineer is pivotal in ensuring seamless navigation system operations. As the primary point of contact for all matters related to navigation and integrated systems, you will work closely with internal departments, vendors, classification societies, and Fleet Superintendents.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert for navigation and integrated systems onboard vessels, guaranteeing they are fully operational and compliant.
  • Maintain and follow up on surveys, health checks, and scheduled maintenance of these systems, minimizing downtime.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents/Vessel Managers to identify best-fit solutions with approved vendors, ensuring timely and budget-friendly repairs.
  • Ensure vessel compliance with class, flag, and regulatory requirements concerning navigation systems.
  • Review and challenge vendor proposals to guarantee cost-effectiveness and high operational availability.
  • Contribute to experience sharing and documentation to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain and update databases of onboard navigation and radio systems.
  • Coordinate with expert teams on system lifecycle planning and upgrades.
  • Regularly evaluate vendor and partner performance in collaboration with purchasing teams.
  • Prepare annual budgets for assigned vessels in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Attend vessels in port when necessary to stay updated with onboard systems and services.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering is required.
