Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of GCP Data Engineer/Consultant Specialist.

  • This is a key role in shaping the future of our organisation by developing and implementing cutting-edge solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Providing solution architecture support to projects where required, ensuring that solutions meet business needs and are aligned to functional and target architecture.
  • Analysing and proposing plans to demise legacy systems.
  • Leading a team of data engineers and assuming responsibilities as Technical Lead for assigned projects.
  • Ensuring full ownership and efficient management of GDT IT services and products.
  • Monitoring team progress and delivering optimum solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Inputting for estimations, monitoring, and co-ordinating team-related activities.
  • Being involved in designing, development, unit testing, performance testing, and application deployment.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep knowledge of Cloud Architecture on GCP, AWS or Azure with preference to GCP.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud and Cloud Native technologies.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and various business parties, driving all business discussions.
  • A track record of making complex business decisions with authority, considering long-term risks and implications.
  • DevOps and automation design experience.
  • Experience with ETL tools like IBM DataStage.
  • Experience in Hadoop/Hive, Big Query, Google Analytics, Data Flow, Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, Qliksense, Spark.
  • Design, build, and configure applications to meet business process requirements.
  • On-Prem to GCP data migration projects experience.
  • Concepts RDBMS, SDLC, OLAP, Logical/Physical Dimensional.
  • Programming languages: PL-SQL, SQL, Unix Scripting, Java, Python.
  • Operating Systems: Windows 2000/NT, Unix, Linux.
  • Must have experience working in Agile environment and should be well-versed with Agile/Scrum Master.
  • Experience working in building business intelligence solutions.
