About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer, Backend Developer will collaborate with the Data Science team to deliver foundational components that impact major areas of the platform.


This role plays a crucial part in providing data science intelligence and data access technologies to our products.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using relevant backend technologies;
  • Delivering on requirements for user stories in a multi-functional Agile team;
  • Developing expertise in proprietary enterprise software products;
  • Implementing and managing cloud-based deployments and microservices architecture to ensure scalability and reliability;
  • Building and maintaining key pipelines that deploy various APIs into different environments;
  • Conducting thorough code reviews and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices;
  • Participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Understanding and considering customer environments and their use of our products;
  • Applying software engineering practices and implementing automation across all elements of solution delivery.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • 4-6 years of professional experience in software development;
  • Strong technical skills to understand and deliver on complex requirements;
  • Expertise in backend development, web services, and RESTful APIs;
  • Relevant experience with data-related technologies including relational databases and NoSQL solutions;
  • Understanding of architectural patterns and techniques;
  • Ability to resolve functional and performance issues using debugging and profiling techniques;
  • Understanding of large language models and prompt engineering;
  • Knowledge of information and application security aspects;
  • Demonstrated success as a problem solver;
  • Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools.
