Job Title: Cloud Database SpecialistJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Database Specialist to design, implement and maintain complex data systems supporting millions of customers with cloud native principles and best practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and deploying database infrastructure build out and performing upgrades & migrations as needed.

As a resident expert in Aurora PostgreSQL database performance & scalability, the candidate will contribute to infrastructure changes to AWS with deep understanding of AWS services.

The ideal candidate will manage complex data replication environments serving batch as well as real-time use cases.

Engagement in on-call for production systems and acting for incoming pagers/alerts is also required.

The candidate will contribute to major system upgrades, deployment automation, monitoring enhancements and production changes.

Additionally, they will engage in on-call for production systems, create operational playbooks, contribute to how-to articles and gain domain knowledge to drive changes in the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on development & operational experience with Postgres (AWS Aurora Postgres)
  • Experience with AWS Data Migration Service
  • Extensive performance monitoring, troubleshooting & tuning experience.
  • Experience with AWS services and hands-on knowledge of hosting on cloud.
  • Experience with any one of the programming languages for Devops automation: Java/Python/Shell
  • Knowledge of Docker & Kubernetes, Splunk, Wavefront is a plus.
