Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Sourcing Engineer with a strong background in procurement, supplier management, and manufacturing processes to join our team at Catalydd Engineering Consultant.

  • This role involves building and developing a reputable supplier base, ensuring the quality and compliance of sourced components, and driving continuous improvement in the supply chain.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry, particularly with heavy and light fabrication, and be comfortable working in a hands-on capacity to meet our company's strategic sourcing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Supplier Base Development:

  • Develop and maintain a strong and reputable supplier base in India and globally for both low and medium-volume parts/assemblies.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to review project requirements and provide input on fabrication methods.

Supplier Evaluation and Management:

  • Conduct thorough research and evaluation of suppliers based on price, quality, service, reliability, and performance history.
  • Manage supplier performance metrics and provide regular feedback to suppliers to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Oversee quality assurance processes, including inspections and tests to verify compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive improvement using lean methodologies, ensuring supplier compliance, and driving systematic problem-solving and process improvements.
  • Lead solutions for supplier component concerns, including Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) support, and supplier cost improvements.

Supplier Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with supplier partners, fostering collaboration and enabling effective resolution of supply chain challenges.
  • Ensure professional and respectful communication with all levels of management, subordinates, and suppliers.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure adherence to corporate and company compliance requirements and local legislation.

Travel Requirements:

  • The position requires both domestic and international travel, though mainly, the candidate will be based in our office.

Education:
Engineering graduate with a strong technical competence.


Skills:

  • Well-developed negotiation and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Skilled in supplier operational and relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods such as fabrication, welding of steel structures, plastic injection molding, and machining.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and experience with heavy & light fabrication, off-the-shelf components, and subassemblies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills:

  • Experience in secondary processes like powder coating & heat treatment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualifications.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance and compliance management.
  • Willingness and capability to conduct all aspects of supplier identification, qualification, and management.
