About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Vernacular Outreach Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting our mission and values by effectively managing our vernacular outreach efforts.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Translation and Coordination: Translate content from English to Hindi for our website, videos, letters, and other documents, and coordinate vernacular outreach activities, including managing and updating our Hindi website and social media platforms.
  • Team Management: Collaborate with freelance translators and proofreaders working in other Indian languages to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate delivery of multilingual campaign content.
  • Content Management: Assist in managing and maintaining our Hindi website, including uploading content in accordance with standard operating procedures and ensuring regular updates with the latest campaign news, blogs, and resources.
  • Social Media Engagement: Support content development and management of our Hindi Facebook page and other regional social media platforms, including responding to followers with approved, informative, and polite replies.
  • Creatives Development: Collaborate with the Online and Campaigns teams to create and adapt Hindi creatives for social media use.
  • Staying Informed: Stay informed about our ongoing and upcoming campaigns to ensure consistency and accuracy across all Hindi content.
  • Professional Conduct: Maintain a positive, professional, and solution-oriented mindset, meeting all assigned deadlines with efficiency and accuracy, and applying a strong understanding of animal rights and our mission to all translation and coordination work.

Requirements:

  • Translation Experience: Minimum two (2) years of practical experience in translation from English to Hindi.
  • Coordination Skills: Strong coordination skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of freelance translators and liaise with various internal departments.
  • Translation and Communication Skills: Excellent translation skill from English to Hindi and verbal communication skills in both English and Hindi.
  • Social Media Knowledge: Strong understanding of social media trends and engagement practices.
  • Additional Qualifications: Experience with website and social media content management is a plus, as well as proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, and general computer applications.
  • Soft Skills: Strong time-management, organisational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, and a strong alignment with our philosophy and the ability to advocate our positions respectfully and effectively.
