Animal Emergency Response Assistant

PETA India is seeking a dedicated and compassionate emergency response professional to join its team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling urgent animal emergencies, rescues, and cruelty cases involving animals in Delhi and Mumbai.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to emergency and general cruelty-case calls and emails, providing appropriate assistance and support.
  • Coordinate with approved animal-protection organisations, volunteers, activists, government bodies, and designated officials to facilitate emergency rescues in remote areas across the country.
  • Maintain accurate records of calls and emails received about emergencies and cruelty cases, including how they were handled and concluded.
  • Participate in professional development training on animal handling, restraining, first aid, and other relevant lessons.
  • Provide exceptional organisational and time-management skills, including multi-tasking, to effectively manage workload and priorities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution.
  • Voluntary or other experience handling emergency and cruelty-case responses for animals an advantage.
  • Computer proficiency, fluency in Hindi and English, and knowledge of local Indian languages beneficial.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, patience, and ability to deal with animal-protection organisations, volunteers, and contacts.
  • Compassionate, responsible, and self-driven character, outgoing and personable manner, and commitment to PETA India's philosophy.
