Procurement StrategistJob Overview:

The Procurement Strategist is responsible for overseeing the acquisition of essential raw materials, developing strategic procurement plans, and managing supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procurement Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials to optimize costs and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop procurement plans.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Cost Management:
    • Manage procurement budgets and track expenses to ensure compliance with financial targets.
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives and continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure that all raw materials procured meet required quality standards and specifications.
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Work closely with the Inventory Management team to ensure optimal stock levels of raw materials.
    • Implement inventory control measures to minimize wastage and reduce excess stock.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
    • Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaboration:
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the procurement team.
    Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPM, CPSM) is preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on raw materials.
    • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and strategies.
    • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
    • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and build strong partnerships.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in procurement software and tools. SAP knowledge is a must.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
    Additional Skills:
    • Experience in the Pesticide industry is preferred.
    • Understanding of regulatory requirements related to raw materials procurement.
