Product Development and Merchandising Role

This is a pivotal position in the company's product development process. As a Product Development and Merchandiser, you will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle of products from conception to production.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing product development from sourcing raw materials to supplier negotiations and timely production as per design requirements.
  • Ensuring that all stakeholders including suppliers, job workers, and internal and external production teams are aligned for timely delivery of production.
  • Nurturing relationships with partners and vendors to identify new opportunities and improve existing ones.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Developing and presenting pre-development samples that meet quality and design standards.
  • Evaluating and monitoring product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and vendors on costing to achieve optimal pricing without compromising on quality and timelines.
  • Finding alternative solutions and suppliers to achieve cost savings without compromising on quality and timelines.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production.
  • Excellent knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories and the factory supplier base.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
