As a key member of the Novartis team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of medicine and reimagining patient care.

We are seeking an exceptional Procurement Specialist - Medical Affairs to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for generating, negotiating, and executing contracts to support the utilization of clinical Contract Research Organizations (CROs) for Novartis Clinical Trials.

About the Role
  • Prepare and release RFI, RFP, and RFQs and negotiate with existing and new suppliers to support business needs.
  • Negotiate contract frameworks, including MSAs and SLAs with key suppliers, ensuring full implementation.
  • Ensure agreements are commercially advantageous to Novartis while minimizing risk through close collaboration with functional partners.
  • Drive annual productivity improvements in applicable spend categories.

You will have ownership of complete contract packages for clinical ESP activities and secure necessary approvals to ensure compliance to SOX and company procedures.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Clinical Development/Pharma R&D/Procurement.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Outsourcing within the Pharma or CRO industry.
  • Detailed understanding of the clinical development process and robust understanding of the management of clinical trials.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Solid understanding of contractual legal terms and conditions.
