Data Governance Strategist

As a Data Governance Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. Your primary objective will be to develop and execute a comprehensive data governance strategy that ensures the accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security of our data assets.

This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of a cutting-edge data governance framework. You will work closely with business and technology leaders to design, implement, and maintain a robust data governance program that aligns with our organizational goals and objectives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, classify, and categorize data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
  • Partnering with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate controls are applied to sensitive and regulated data.
  • Driving data quality and integrity initiatives through the development and implementation of data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies, as well as experience in executing against well-defined procedures and processes. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster healthy working relationships and communicate effectively across different levels of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Management, Data Science).
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in executing against well-defined procedures and processes.
  • Ability to create high-quality deliverables with minimal oversight.
  • Foundational technical expertise, including both business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and deal with change and ambiguity in a diverse and constantly evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data Governance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, or IT Audit.
  • Basic knowledge of industry leading data governance principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with data governance tools and metadata management.
