Senior Data Engineering Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineering Lead to join our team.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering business requirements end-to-end from conception to production. This includes working in a Databricks environment, designing and implementing data engineering toolchains, platform capabilities, and reusable patterns.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in cloud-based security principles and protocols, as well as experience in big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, and Snowflake. They should also have a good understanding of Kafka, Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming, configuration-driven data transformation, and curation.

In addition, the candidate should have expertise in building cloud-native microservices, containers, Kubernetes, and platform-as-a-service technologies. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools, messaging systems, API and microservices stacks, and cloud technologies is also desirable.

The candidate should have strong programming skills, preferably in Python, Scala, or JVM-based languages. Experience in building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps is also essential.

A strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including source code management, unit testing, and test-driven development (TDD), is necessary. The candidate should also have knowledge of Agile software development principles and patterns.

They should be able to collaborate in a high-performing team environment, influence and be influenced by others, and think strategically, implement iteratively, and estimate financial impact of design/architecture alternatives.

Continuous learning and professional development are highly valued in this role.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 13-16 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering pipelines, middleware, and API development automation
  • More than 3 years of experience in Databricks within an Azure environment
