Engineering Technician

As a key member of our operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of all systems and facilities at our hotel. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety and service while performing a wide range of repairs and preventive upkeep.

• Guest Service:Promptly respond to and attend to guest repair requests, communicating effectively to resolve maintenance issues.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests, anticipate and address their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank them with genuine appreciation.
• Maintenance & Repair Operations:Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Inspect and identify potential issues with tools, equipment, or machines.
• Locate and operate shut-off valves for equipment and buildings.
• Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting on various equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunging toilets, unclogging drains), electrical components, and replace switches and outlets.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, perform minor drywall and wood trim repair, replace light bulbs and A/C filters, and clean up thoroughly.
• Program TVs and maintain engineering-related inventory.
• Execute repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinklers.
• Inventory & Communication:Maintain inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems using approved programs and standards.
• Display knowledge of air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
• Utilize lockout/tagout procedures for maintenance work.
• Demonstrate basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and temperature changes.
• Follow safety/security policies and report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Store flammable materials properly.
• Professionalism & Teamwork:Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets.
• Adhere to quality expectations and standards.
• Develop positive working relationships with others, support the team, and listen/respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Speak clearly and professionally.
• Physical Demands:Move objects weighing less than 50 pounds without assistance and heavier items with help.
• Move up and down stairs, ramps, and ladders.
• Reach overhead and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Enter work-related information using computers.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Required Qualifications:

• License or Certification: Valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
• Hotel Engineering or Maintenance experience is beneficial.
