At Quess IT Staffing, we are seeking an experienced Software Architect to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in making high-level design choices and decisions for software projects.

Job Description:

We are looking for a talented individual with a deep understanding of full-stack development leveraging React/Flutter and modern web technologies in the front-end and Python, REST microservices, containers, cloud computing platforms in the back end.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of software solutions
  • Translate business needs and requirements into technical requirements for software applications
  • Guide the software development process through high-level decision-making
  • Define and document application architecture, design, and plan implementation
  • Influence, coach, mentor, provide guidance and support to software engineers, programmers, testers, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle
  • Create and maintain design and code standards, conduct technical reviews, and ensure adherence to architectural standards and design principles
  • Ensure software solutions are scalable, performant, and reliable
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks, ensuring successful project delivery
  • Lead by example by contributing high-quality code, maintaining code, identifying and resolving technical issues and challenges
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continually enhance our solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or (preferred) master's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of experience leading/coordinating software development teams on technical projects, 10+ years of experience
  • Solid understanding of software design and architectural patterns
  • Proven track record of designing and developing Python applications, including frameworks like Flask and FastAPI, and proficiency in database management with SQLAlchemy
  • Excellent understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture principles, and experience designing, implementing, deploying, and documenting microservices-based applications
  • Strong understanding of algorithmic complexity, optimization techniques, and best practices for designing efficient algorithms to solve complex problems
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and familiarity with building and managing scalable, distributed systems using cloud-native technologies such as serverless computing, containers, and orchestration
  • Solid understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, caching systems (Redis), with experience optimizing database schemas for performance and scalability
  • Familiarity with data processing libraries like Pandas and NumPy for advanced analytics and machine learning tasks
  • Solid understanding of modern web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and responsive design principles
  • Proficiency in front-end development with React and/or Flutter, with demonstrable experience building and shipping production-quality web and mobile applications
  • Familiarity with state management libraries/frameworks such as Redux (for React) or Provider (for Flutter) to manage application state and data flow
  • Experience with common software development tools and services, such as version control software (e.g., Git), code review processes, package managers, testing framework (e.g., Playwright or Pytest), continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Experience with operational and monitoring tools and principles
