Senior Mobile Technology Expert

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Mobile Technology Expert to spearhead our mobile applications' development. This role combines technical expertise with leadership, overseeing a team of engineers while taking ownership of the systems behind our Mobile App and Point of Sale software.

As a player-coach, you will stay deeply technical while leading your team from the front. Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive architectural solutions collaboratively with your team and engineering leadership to build and scale our mobile products.
  • Write production code regularly as a core contributor while maintaining oversight of your team's technical deliverables.
  • Own operational excellence for your team's systems, including monitoring, incident response, and reliability improvements.
  • Champion modern development practices, including active use of LLMs within your team and the adoption of technical practices.

Requirements:

  • Owned solution design for complex features within mobile apps before.
  • Experience working with applications used at scale or mission critical to their customers.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong self-learning drive and adaptation of workflows to incorporate generative AI tools.
  • Comfortable writing production React Native code.

Technical Background:

  • React Native for cross-platform mobile development.
  • Modern graphql based api driving an optimised frontend datastore capability.
  • Extensive application monitoring tools such as Sentry, Datadog, Segment.
  • A backend built on a serverless, event driven system architecture running on AWS.
  • A rigorous approach to continuous integration and system correctness.

Partner closely with product managers as joint owners of your product success, contributing technical and delivery insight to shape what gets built.
