Thermal Systems Designer

Job Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to conceptualize, design, and develop thermal systems for commercial and industrial buildings. As a skilled Thermal Systems Designer, you will be responsible for creating accurate working drawings, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and resolving technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop precise thermal system designs per project standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with civil, architectural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting specialists to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical discrepancies with site teams in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and drawing logs, adhering to ISO standards.
  • Support quantity take-offs, drawing approvals, and monitor productivity metrics.
  • Assist in QA/QC processes and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding additional work requirements and project updates.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in thermal system design, including chillers, AHUs, VAVs, FCUs, ventilation, and smoke control.
  • Familiarity with GCC codes and Civil Defence regulations.
  • Proficiency in HVAC calculations and software, such as HAP.
  • Knowledge of Revit and Navisworks is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skills.
  • Understanding of related MEP systems and their integration.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in HVAC training are highly valued.
