The Digital Experience Designer will play a crucial role in re-imagining how innovative people data services are designed and delivered at Amazon, for Amazonians, by Amazonians. With the help of cutting-edge technologies, this position will focus on creating simplistic and elegant digital experiences that empower Amazon builders to create amazing solutions powered by Amazonian data.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team at Foundational People Data Services (FPDS). As a key member of the FPDS team, you will be instrumental in driving the design of cutting-edge experiences that delight and solve problems for Amazonians who rely on our services. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring that we're designing experiences that meet the needs of our customers and users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create user-centered designs by considering personas, data, customer feedback, user research, and technical constraints/opportunities.
  • Build user flows, wireframes, design mockups, and prototypes to effectively conceptualize new product initiatives.
  • Relentlessly simplify and distill complex processes into intuitive and elegant UI.
  • Evaluate design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization.
About the Team

Beginning in 2022, we built Foundational People Data Services, a secure, reliable, and fast way to store and consume worker data. We have helped builders across Amazon invent 7,800+ and growing experiences with our AWS-like, 1P data services which focus on the builder experience. Our team includes UX Research and Design and actively partners with Product and Engineering to identify personas, customer problems, influence priorities, planning work, executing design, ensuring quality, evaluating outcomes, and improving mechanisms.

We now have 5,000+ builder customer teams across AWS, Alexa, Payroll, Builder Tools, MyHR, A to Z, Clarity, GREF, Workplace Health & Safety, Time and Attendance, and more - over 75% of them are outside of People Experience & Technology (PXT). Our estimated salary range for this position is $180,000-$250,000 per year, based on industry standards and comparable roles within Amazon.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with engineering to effectively incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack. You will apply best design practices to arrive at the right customer outcome.
