Medical Scribe Manager Position

We are seeking a skilled Medical Scribe Manager to lead our medical record documentation team. The ideal candidate will have experience with electronic health records (EHRs) and possess strong administrative writing, reporting, and organizational skills.

This role is responsible for reviewing physician dictation and transcribing it into clinical notes in EMR/Billing systems. Additionally, the candidate must prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians, ensuring medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation. Other responsibilities include updating patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's chart, preparing and sending all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures, monitoring the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures, complying with hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission, performing other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned, and assigning codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes, ensuring codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with government and insurance regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a medical coding or successful completion of a certification program, a Bachelor's degree with pre-health career track preferred, strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, familiarity with ICD-X codes and CPT Procedures, and skilled in operating various medical record software and hardware, word-processing, and database software programs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review Physician Dictation: Transcribe physician dictation into clinical notes in EMR/Billing systems
  2. Prepare Medical Record Documentation: Assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians, ensuring medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation
  3. Update Patient Information: Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's chart
  4. Assign Codes: Assign codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
