We are seeking detail-oriented and experienced radiology medical coders to join our team. As a radiology medical coder, you will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing radiology reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and review radiology reports to assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
  • Evaluate coding compliance in accordance with ACR, CMS, and payer guidelines.
  • Assign accurate codes for a variety of radiology modalities including X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Radiation oncology.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, billing staff, and auditors to resolve coding discrepancies.
  • Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines, NCCI edits, and regulatory changes.
  • Maintain high productivity and accuracy benchmarks as established by the department.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in radiology coding is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MIPS coding is mandatory.
  • Deep knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes is necessary.
  • Familiarity with payer-specific rules and LCD/NCD policies is desirable.
