**Role Overview:**

We are seeking a skilled Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to take on a challenging project.

As a key member of our distributed engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance web applications while enhancing legacy codebases for better scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement robust, scalable applications using Ruby on Rails.
  • Debug and optimize legacy systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams; contribute to and maintain technical documentation.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 9 years of professional software development experience, primarily with Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong debugging skills and experience working with and modernizing legacy systems.
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and relational database design.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality unit and integration tests.
  • Ability to work independently and asynchronously in a remote team setting.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expert-level knowledge of Ruby on Rails and its ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
