Senior Frontend Developer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Senior Frontend Developer to lead our frontend development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in modern web frameworks, strong UI/UX sensibilities, and proven leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Owning and evolving the frontend architecture of our existing product.
  • Leading the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable UI features.
  • Collaborating with backend developers, designers, and product managers to deliver cohesive and functional features.
  • Contributing to full-stack development when needed, ensuring seamless integration across layers.

Team Mentorship & Code Quality

  • Guiding and supporting junior and mid-level developers through mentorship and code reviews.
  • Establishing and enforcing coding standards, modular design practices, and component reuse.
  • Driving engineering excellence through design discussions, architecture reviews, and performance evaluations.

Frontend Development & Integration

  • Developing responsive, maintainable UIs using JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern state management libraries.
  • Building and maintaining shared component libraries and internal design systems.
  • Integrating with REST and GraphQL APIs, handling authentication, routing, and dynamic content.
  • Applying modular CSS techniques using SCSS, PostCSS, or Tailwind.

Performance, Accessibility, and Testing

  • Optimizing applications for speed, responsiveness, and accessibility.
  • Implementing and maintaining unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Ensuring cross-browser compatibility and responsive behavior across screen sizes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in frontend development with expertise in React, Vue, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Proficient in component-based architecture, UI/UX best practices, and scalable CSS.
  • Deep experience integrating frontend with REST and GraphQL APIs.
  • Knowledge of routing, authentication flows, lazy loading, and code splitting.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, including SOLID and DRY.
  • Experience with modern frontend tooling, such as Vite, Webpack, Babel, ESLint, and Prettier.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Full stack experience with Express or serverless backend environments.
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Storybook) and implementing pixel-perfect UIs.
  • Exposure to accessibility standards and performance audits.
  • Experience working in startup or agile product development environments.
