We are looking for a skilled Impairment Specialist to join our Retail Banking team at Barclays. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the potential impairment of financial assets.

About the Role:

  • Evaluate financial assets for potential impairment triggers and assess relevant financial and non-financial information
  • Apply impairment tests to determine whether an asset is considered impaired
  • Assess the impairment loss for an asset by identifying the right valuation method and documenting the process
  • Calculate the impairment provision to reflect the impairment loss and prepare clear and accurate impairment disclosures for financial statements
  • Manage the performance of impaired assets and reassess their impairment status on a regular basis

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in using various software tools and technologies
  • Prior experience in credit risk management and analytics
