Senior Data Scientist

The Data Sciences team at Flipkart is on a mission to build systemic intelligence across Flipkart products and the overarching ecosystem. With India's largest online marketplace and the most used e-commerce app in India, Flipkart is in a unique vantage position, offering a distinctive opportunity to decipher the richest possible data about Indian consumers.
Our team is dedicated to deciphering the vast product selection and proliferating seller base, uncovering a multitude of disruptive possibilities. The terabytes of daily data compounded in Flipkart's data centers offer a dynamic mix of numerical, structured, unstructured, image- and audio-based statistics, all set to define shopping in the future.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Planning data science team to build DS solutions for overall inventory and supply planning within the Flipkart supply chain.
- Formulate and architect future AI / ML / OR models for Flipkart Products.
- Guide the team through decisions around applying Data Science and Data Modelling techniques to drive innovation, efficiency productivity and automation within Flipkart's ecosystem.
- Ensure timely deployment of models in a high-pace business, large-scale production environment.
- Coach the Data Science team on various challenges and trade-offs in developing models that can accurately employ real data.
- Build deep partnerships with business, product management, and technology leaders.
- Lead, hire, manage and mentor a team of highly qualified Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Software Engineers.
- Help develop systems-driven framework for tracking the quality, consistency, applicability and performance of data inputs and outcomes.
- Build and leverage tools that allow for democratization and easy consumption and analysis of data across the organization.
- B.Tech / M.Tech in CS / ML / AI / OR / Statistics with demonstrable experience through publications / deployed solutions / projects.
- Formally managed small/large teams of DS, data Engineers with DS capabilities for at least 2-4 Yrs.
- Significant experience in developing and deploying DS solutions for supply chain settings.
- Strong technical skills in machine learning / AI, including optimization, simulation, regression techniques, neural networks, decision trees, cluster analysis, pattern recognition, probability theory, stochastic systems, Bayesian inference, and statistical techniques.
