Structural Analysis Engineer

This is a challenging role that involves the end-to-end design, analysis and integrity management of complex facilities. It encompasses initial conceptual studies to detailed engineering, and ongoing operational support for both greenfield and brownfield projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Engineering:
    • Advanced structural analysis and design for both reinforced concrete and steel structures, including pipe racks, platforms, foundations and buildings are performed.
    • Specialized foundations, such as dynamic foundations for large rotating machinery and pile foundations for complex structures are designed.
    • Comprehensive in-place, fatigue, seismic and blast analysis for both onshore and offshore structures are conducted.
    • Detailed engineering deliverables, including technical specifications, calculation reports and engineering drawings (GAs, details, layouts) are developed.
    • Advanced engineering software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SACS, ABAQUS, Navisworks) for structural analysis, simulation and 3D modeling are utilized.
  • Project Management and Coordination:
    • The civil and structural aspects of projects from the conceptual (FEED) stage through detailed design and into execution are led.
    • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines (process, piping, mechanical, electrical) to ensure seamless integration of designs is performed.
    • Clash detection and resolution using 3D modeling tools to identify and mitigate conflicts with other disciplines is performed.
    • Technical support to the procurement process by reviewing vendor bids and material requisitions is provided.
    • Project schedules, budgets and change requests related to the civil/structural scope of work are managed.
  • Integrity and Maintenance:
    • Structural integrity assessments of existing facilities, performing fitness-for-service evaluations are conducted.
    • Structural inspection and reliability programs to monitor the health of assets are developed and implemented.
    • Technical support and repair recommendations for in-service structures based on inspection reports and risk assessments are provided.
    • Decommissioning projects by designing removal and demolition procedures are supported.
  • Field and Construction Support:
    • Site visits and inspections to ensure construction activities comply with design specifications are performed.
    • On-site technical guidance, address construction queries and evaluate change orders are provided.
    • Installation aids and construction methodology, especially for offshore components are developed.
    • In Turnaround Engineering with Construction and Temporary support arrangements and necessary calculations in both Upstream and Refinery facilities are supported.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance:
    • All designs and deliverables comply with strict international and industry-specific standards, such as API, AISC, Eurocodes and relevant environmental regulations.
    • Accurate and organized project documentation, including design changes and revision controls are maintained.
    • Quality control of contractor and vendor work throughout the project is overseen.
