Job Title: Quality Assurance Team Lead

This is a senior leadership role that oversees the quality assurance process for software products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and automated testing, as well as leading teams of engineers.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, effective communication skills, and the ability to motivate and lead a team towards achieving quality objectives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading products QA deliveries and reporting to the QA manager for continuous feedback and improvement.
  • Ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning and automation planning.
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to understand product architecture and functionality to ensure good-quality feature delivery.
  • Taking complete ownership of release deliverables along with multitasking and mentoring.
  • Generating QA artifacts like test plans, test cases, and test execution reports, release deployment guides, etc.
  • Identifying, documenting, and tracking defects. Collaborating with the development team to resolve issues.
  • Preparing and configuring test environments, including software installations and configurations.
  • Conducting exploratory testing to find defects that might not be covered by test cases.
  • Deploying microservices applications in Engineering environments.
  • Supporting SRE teams for production releases.
  • Improving processes for test plan reviews and ensuring thoroughness of test scenarios.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting customer issues and providing root cause analysis when needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in functional and automated testing of SAAS products and leading teams of 3-5 engineers.
  • Experience on any public or private cloud platform.
  • Certification of AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in test automation of multi-tier enterprise and/or Cloud, SaaS applications.
  • Experience with microservices architecture using Kubernetes and Docker containers.
  • Hands-on experience of functional UI and API automation.
  • Linux knowledge is a must.
  • Good to have experience on Kafka, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Oracle DB.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and testing methodologies. Experience with cloud-based platforms, containerization, and DevOps practices is also desirable.
