Job Overview

This role is responsible for supporting the execution of data protection strategies to safeguard personal information from cyber threats. The successful candidate will ensure associated privacy measures are implemented accordingly.

Main Responsibilities
  • Data Protection Execution:
    • Regularly meet with relevant stakeholders to provide tactical direction in the development and execution of data management plans.
    • Communicate plans to protect personal data to peers across Data Governance, Digital Core, Solution Development, Data Management Plan owners, and Cyber Security teams.
    • Conduct regular assessments of compliance for digital capabilities to assess privacy risk and propose mitigating efforts.
    • Support the creation of a personal data inventory to record data flows within systems, cloud environments, and third-party vendors.
    • Act as an internal consultant to business stakeholders to interpret issues related to data privacy regulatory requirements.
    • Provide technical support for privacy-related technologies.
  • Privacy Management:
    • Apply universal privacy governance across all personal data types, ensuring it is reasonable and actionable.
    • Stay up-to-date on emerging personal information-oriented privacy laws and changes to existing laws, providing impact assessments to stakeholders.
    • Partner with the Data Privacy team on implementing privacy directives across technology landscapes, focusing on personal information.
  • Partnership & Benchmarking:
    • Maintain and develop professional contacts within the cybersecurity/privacy community and leading security consultants/vendors.
    • Continuously develop knowledge of evolving best practices and trends through peer benchmarking, industry events/associations, and educational opportunities.
    • Share knowledge and trends within the Cyber Security team to improve awareness.
Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required. Knowledge of privacy laws and their relationship with cybersecurity is essential. Technical expertise in supporting privacy-related technologies (OneTrust) is also necessary. Strong communication and presentation skills are crucial, along with experience establishing strong working relationships with business partners.
