Leadership Role in Physiotherapy Education

This leadership role is a key position within the physiotherapy college, responsible for providing academic and administrative guidance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring excellence in teaching, clinical practice, research, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement academic programs according to University, UGC, and statutory council norms.
  • Supervise curriculum development, teaching methodologies, and continuous assessment.
  • Guide faculty in research, publications, and participation in academic forums.
  • Ensure effective clinical training and integration with hospital services.
Administrative & Managerial Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day administration of the physiotherapy college/department.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (UGC, State Council, University guidelines).
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff performance.
  • Prepare budgets, manage resources, and ensure infrastructure adequacy.
Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation standards (NABH, NAAC, etc.).
  • Maintain proper records of academic, clinical, and administrative activities.
  • Facilitate audits, inspections, and approvals from governing bodies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Build collaboration with healthcare institutions, universities, and professional bodies.
  • Organize workshops, CMEs, and conferences to enhance learning exposure.
  • Engage with parents, students, and alumni to strengthen institutional reputation.
Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of physiotherapy education, pedagogy, and healthcare trends.
  • Ability to balance academics, clinical, and administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Education: MPT / Ph.D. in Physiotherapy (specialization desirable in Orthopedics, Neurology, or Cardio-respiratory).
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of teaching/clinical experience, including at least 5 years in a Professor/Head role.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, knowledge of physiotherapy education, pedagogy, and healthcare trends, and a research-oriented mindset with publications in reputed journals.
