Hardware Design Engineer - Product Development Specialist

As a senior technical lead, you will be responsible for the design and development of defense and marine products. This involves understanding hardware systems design and redesign requirements, generating project proposals including technology feasibility studies, architectural designs, and system requirements management. You will also coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and propose cost reductions, reliability improvements, and product qualification plans to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of defense and marine products from requirements to conceptual design, architectural design, detailed design, and analysis.
  • Experience in performing feasibility analysis, trade-off analysis, and functional simulations using simulation tools and hand calculations.
  • Product performance evaluation (hardware verification) and product qualification to comply with MIL-STD-461G and MIL-STD-810G standards.
  • Working experience with multi-disciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, industrialization, procurement, suppliers, etc.) and knowledge of DFMEA and DFM tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and troubleshooting skills on hardware systems, identifying root causes, and fixing efficient solutions with lessons learned.
  • Experience in driving new technologies initiatives, product improvement initiatives, and value-engineering initiatives.

Qualifications: 

  • B.Tech in Engineering or equivalent with 12 to 16 years of relevant experience. Higher qualifications of post-graduation and/or PhD are desirable.
  • Working experience in Defense systems is highly desirable.

Technical Skills and Competencies: 

  • Experience in design and development of products for Defense or marine applications is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of using simulation tools, hand calculations, architectural design, PUGH matrix, and functional simulations and trade-off analysis.
  • Experience in working with PLCs, motors, motor drive electronics, control & command systems is desirable.
