Job Summary

Baxter International is seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our software security team, you will be responsible for driving security initiatives and ensuring the development of secure software products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive threat modeling, security risk assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing on various medical products and projects.
  • Implement security guidance and best practices in the design and development lifecycle of various medical products.
  • Prepare and document standard operating procedures and evaluate industry standards.
  • Determine required tasks and complete them on time with no supervision.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks with appropriate mitigations.
  • Guide and support other engineers on their designs, and receive guidance from specialists or principal engineers.
  • Ability to work as a collaborative team member, demonstrating and driving an inclusive work culture.
  • Generate alternatives and take reasonable risks while solving technical problems, taking technical decisions during critical situations.
  • Seek knowledge of the business, market, industry, and competitive environment, driving customer requirements through product software.
  • Use existing engineering tools and best practices to report and track product and process metrics.
  • Challenge project teams and established work processes, proactively finding creative methods to reach desired performance levels.
  • Inform others proactively about developments or issues that affect their work, and their ability to meet commitments.
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external parties in the development, improvement, and maintenance of products.
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns, taking immediate corrective/preventive action as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer/electronics engineering, computer science with 11 to 18 years of work experience in SW development.
  • 10+ years of security engineering experience.
  • Experience in vulnerability scanning, static code analysis, threat modeling, security risk assessments, penetration testing, cloud security (Azure), web application security, mobile device security.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Experience in the medical device industry and FDA regulations is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong debugging/problem-solving skills, good teamwork skill with a can-do attitude.
  • Thirst to constantly learn about new technologies and ways to improve.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing objectives, able to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills, coaching capabilities.
