This leadership position involves spearheading foundational component development for a Lakehouse architecture on AWS and driving existing data processing workflows to this new solution.
You will collaborate with the Data Engineering organization to create scalable data infrastructure and processes using technologies such as Python, PySpark, EMR Serverless, Iceberg, Glue, and Glue Data Catalog.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead complex projects independently, fostering an inclusive culture within teams.
- Mentor team members and lead technical discussions.
- Provide strategic guidance on best practices in design, development, and implementation.
- Drive migration of existing workflows to Lakehouse architecture, utilizing Iceberg capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of data engineering solutions and practices.
- Expertise in AWS services and cloud solutions, particularly regarding data engineering practices.
- Extensive experience in software architecture and solution design.
- Specialized expertise in Python and Spark.
- Ability to provide technical direction and set high standards for code quality and optimize performance in data-intensive environments.
