Forensic Investigator

A career as a forensic investigator presents a unique opportunity to apply analytical skills in the field of digital forensics. Our organization seeks an experienced professional to conduct thorough investigations and provide expert analysis in cases involving cybersecurity incidents.

  • We are looking for a highly skilled Forensic Investigator with experience in conducting digital forensic investigations, analyzing malware, and compiling evidence related to cybersecurity incidents.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Expertise in digital forensic analysis and evidence handling
  • Experience with malware analysis and analytical tools
  • Cybersecurity expertise
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on experience with AI-driven forensic tools is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, GCFA, or CEH are advantageous

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive digital forensic investigations across various platforms.
  • Utilizing advanced forensic tools, including Velociraptor, to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence.
  • Performing endpoint, memory, and disk forensics to uncover attacker actions and persistence.
  • Developing targeted VQL queries for investigative purposes.
  • Correlating forensic findings with threat intelligence and incident response activities.
  • Documenting findings with clear timelines and technical evidence suitable for reporting purposes.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in digital forensics/incident response.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple forensic tools, including Velociraptor, Volatility, Autopsy, FTK, and EnCase.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows internals, registry analysis, and common attacker techniques.
  • Scripting ability (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate evidence extraction.
  • Solid understanding of chain-of-custody and evidence preservation best practices.
