Lead Track Designer

This senior engineering position requires exceptional leadership in track design, primarily focusing on the Australia and New Zealand regions.

  • Our ideal candidate will lead track design projects from feasibility to construction stages, ensuring high-quality deliverables and timely project completion.
  • They will be responsible for mentoring junior team members, providing technical support, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • A key performance indicator for this role is to increase repeat business from ANZ through sustained high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement track designs that meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Manage and deliver design deliverables within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Mentor and train junior team members to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in technical reviews and provide input to ensure high-quality work.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master of Engineering degree or Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 12+ years of experience in track design, preferably in greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Substantial experience working in Australian or New Zealand projects.
  • Prior or current experience in gauging as per ESC215 in New South Wales is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Power Rail Track, Microstation mandatory. Open Rail Designer preferred.
  • Extensive experience and technical proficiency in Plain Line and Switches & Crossings mandatory, preferably in ANZ region.
