We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our cloud migration initiatives. As a Cloud Migration Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end migration of on-premise infrastructure and applications to Azure Cloud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate existing infrastructure and applications to Azure Cloud, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Design and implement Azure landing zones, networking, security, and governance frameworks to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Plan and execute Cloudera cluster migration from on-premises or other cloud platforms to Azure, minimizing downtime and disruption.
  • Optimize and re-architect workloads for Azure-native services such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Event Hub, enhancing data processing and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop lift-and-shift as well as modernization strategies for Cloudera-based big data platforms, improving performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and high availability during migration, meeting stringent business requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Application, Database, Security, Infra, and Data Engineers) to ensure smooth migration, leveraging collective expertise and knowledge.
  • Provide post-migration support, performance tuning, and cost optimization, guaranteeing continued success and growth.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, Networking, Storage, Security), with proven experience in designing and implementing secure and scalable cloud architectures.
  • Deep knowledge of Cloudera/Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Impala, HDFS, Spark, Kafka, HBase, Oozie), with experience in developing and deploying big data solutions.
  • Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Event Hub, HDInsight), with expertise in optimizing data processing and analytics workflows.
  • Strong understanding of cloud governance, cost management, and compliance, with ability to develop and implement effective cloud security strategies.
  • Scripting/Automation skills with PowerShell, Python, or Terraform, with experience in automating repetitive tasks and workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
