This role requires a hands-on approach to oversee tool maintenance, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives in the tool room. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that our manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Oversee the daily operations of the tool room, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards.

  • Manage and supervise a team of toolmakers and technicians, providing guidance and training as necessary.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all tooling and machinery to minimize downtime.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand tooling requirements and make necessary adjustments or improvements.

  • Maintain an inventory of tools and equipment, overseeing procurement and stock levels to ensure availability.

  • Conduct regular quality checks on tools and components to ensure they meet company and industry standards.

  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality and efficiency.

  • Prepare reports on tool room activities, productivity, and maintenance schedules for management review.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and 14-22 years of experience in tool room management or a similar role within the manufacturing industry.

The candidate should also have strong knowledge of tooling, machining processes, and manufacturing methods, as well as proficiency in using CAD software for tool design and modification.

Familiarity with CNC machines and traditional machining tools, excellent leadership and team management skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are also essential.

In addition, the candidate should be able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively, having good communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with different departments.
