Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Bangalore, India

Employment type: Full-time position available

Working days: 6 working days (Monday to Saturday)

Purpose of the Role:

  • Automation and mechanical engineering component design, development of SPMs, review and checking of 2D detail drawings.
  • Collaboration with a team as a key resource for mechanical design and development.
  • Understanding customer requirements and proposing solutions while considering functionality and optimization.
  • Cross-functional interaction to qualify new designs.
  • Meeting customer specifications and requirements.
  • Providing technical support.
  • Working on multiple project phases or sub-tasks with moderate complexity, impacting project completion.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Conceptual design, manufacturing design, DFM, SOP, RF design.
  • 3D part modeling, finishing and assembly details, COTS items specification freeze and localization.
  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 4-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Experience in automation, electromechanical/mechatronics concepts.
  • Understand customer requirements, propose feasible ideas and concepts.
  • Familiarity with creation, reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and standards, particularly precision components and fabricated structures.
  • Wide knowledge of automation products.
  • Validation of engineering components and concepts through engineering calculations.
  • Selection of commercial items like bearings, motors, gearboxes, servomotors, sensors and conveyors.
  • Awareness about best machining processes, heat treatment processes, engineering materials, surface treatments and EDM/EBM mechatronics.
  • Knowledge about material handling equipment.
  • Able to understand and apply limits fits and tolerances, GD&T and surface finish.
  • Good knowledge of DFx concepts.
  • Knowledge of robotics and robot selection application is an added advantage.
  • Well-versed in CAD 2D/3D platforms, particularly AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
