As a Data Governance Principal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our approach to data management. You will develop and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy that aligns with the ServiceNow platform team objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Create and implement a data governance roadmap in alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Develop and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
  3. Ensure compliance with data-related regulations and standards.
  4. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance within the organization to ensure accountability.
  5. Oversee initiatives to improve data quality and establish key data definitions.
  6. Work closely with IT, legal, cyber, and business departments to implement governance strategies.
  7. Develop and maintain a category of the organization's data assets, including sensitivity classifications.
  8. Implement training programs for employees on data governance and compliance.
  9. Conduct regular audits of data governance practices and prepare reports for senior management.
  10. Engage with key stakeholders to align the data governance initiatives with business objectives and needs.

Key Skills/Experience

Demonstrated experience in understanding data architecture, data modeling, and database design.

  1. Knowledge of metadata frameworks and their role in data governance.
  2. Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform/CSDM/data taxonomy.
  3. Experience with data quality/data management/data governance software.
  4. Skilled in understanding a risk appetite and appropriate levels of delegation and escalation for design and implementation.
  5. Experienced in leading, coaching, and developing teams to achieve objectives.
  6. Ability to manage and facilitate organizational change.
  7. Champion of agile ways of working.
