Financial Data Analyst Position Overview

This role involves acting as a quantitative financial analyst.

  • The main responsibilities include supporting general accounting activities in accordance with defined strategies, policies, and procedures of the organization.
  • Preparing and presenting financial data for review to management is also part of this position's description.
  • Creating financial models and pro-formas, including the development of supporting tools, is another key aspect of the job.
  • Operational reporting, developing dashboards, key performance metrics, and trend analysis are also duties that will be handled by this professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analytics, and reporting.
  2. Conduct variance analysis to compare actual vs budget/forecast and identify trends and key drivers.
  3. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, and working capital.
  4. Assist with month-end close activities, including accrual calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, sales, operations) to provide financial insights for decision making.
  6. Be flexible with working hours as required.
  7. Have strong hands-on skills in MS Excel, including working with pivot tables and formulas.
  8. Be proficient in using PowerPoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office Applications to create documents and reports.
  9. Have some knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools, dashboarding, and preparing reports.
  10. Hold a Bachelor's degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce, with prior experience in financial analysis and reporting.
  11. Be comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders.
  12. Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  13. Be energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently yet achieve set goals and targets within deadlines.
