We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) engineer.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring day2 operations and steadystate reliability of the VCF stack — with a focus on vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Operations (vROps / VMware Aria Operations), and NSX (including basic firewall rule configuration and overlay networking).

Key responsibilities include monitoring, triage, and resolving incidents; driving problem management and rootcause analysis. The individual will also perform routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.

Technical Requirements
  • vSphere: clusters, resource pools, DRS/HA, vMotion/Storage vMotion, templates, VM lifecycle
  • vSAN: storage policies, capacity planning, resync monitoring, performance troubleshooting
  • NSX (NSXT): segments/overlays, T0/T1 gateways (awareness), distributed firewall (DFW) rules, NAT, basic load balancing concepts
  • vROps / Aria Operations: dashboards, alert tuning, capacity/performance analytics, reporting

Besides technical requirements, we expect you to implement and validate basic firewall rules and segmentation policy in NSX per standards. You should also adhere to customer change control, audit, and security practices.

Additional tasks involve providing status updates, capacity/performance reports, and KBs as well as conducting knowledge transfer to customer operations teams.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with vSphere administration in production (cluster design, HA/DRS, VM lifecycle, patching/updates)
  • Practical vSAN operations experience (policy-based management, health & performance troubleshooting)
  • Working knowledge of NSXT for day2 ops: overlay/segments, basic routing concepts (T0/T1 awareness), distributed firewall rule creation/validation, NAT
  • Experience with vROps / VMware Aria Operations for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Solid understanding of data center networking (L2/L3 fundamentals) and storage basics
  • Comfortable with change/incident processes (ITIL-aligned) and writing/runbook documentation
Requirements
  • 4–7 years total experience in VMware virtualization & software-defined data center operations
  • 2+ years hands-on with vSphere & vSAN; 1–2 years with NSXT day2 operations
  • Prior experience operating vROps/Aria Operations in production
  • Certifications (preferred): VCP-DCV (required or in progress), VCP-NV (plus), VCAP (plus)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent practical experience
