Furniture Designer

Job Description:

As a skilled furniture designer, you will specialize in creating and constructing wooden furniture and upholstered products that meet the highest standards of quality. This role requires a deep understanding of design principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.

  • You will be responsible for product design and market trend analysis to ensure our furniture remains competitive and desirable.
  • Collaborating with the production team, you will work on product sample creation and manufacturing techniques to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Working closely with the quality control team, you will set standards for finished products to guarantee exceptional quality.
  • With experience in working with various materials and fabrics, you will be adept at finding innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Utilizing your expertise in 3D modeling and creating pre-production product renders and technical drawings, you will bring designs to life.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Design graduate degree from a reputable institute, such as NIFT or NID, with specialization in lifestyle product accessory designs or furniture design.
  • Hands-on experience in design and development, specifically in home decor, furniture, and craft clusters, through conceptualization, product illustrations, material explorations, and product development.
  • Proficiency in working with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, terracotta, fabric, leather, bamboo, and others.
  • Experience in production coordination with craftsmen, medium, and large-scale factory production of such products.
  • Understanding and experience in managing production schedules, processes, and coordinating with vendors and craftsmen.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement of both quality and operational processes.
  • Prior experience in the Jaipur or Jodhpur furniture clusters and companies is ideal.
  • Finally, you must have the motivation, dedication, and discipline to learn and strive for excellence every day.
  • Effective communication and persuasion skills are essential, enabling you to interact with designers, corporates, clients, craftsmen, skilled, and unskilled labor alike.
  • Technical skills: Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD/3D Max, Adobe InDesign, Corel Draw, KeyShot, etc.
