Senior Petrophysicist Role SummaryThe Senior Petrophysicist will lead advanced data acquisition and reservoir characterization efforts, leveraging digital techniques to drive business insights.
This senior-level position requires expertise in petrophysical evaluations, including log interpretation, core-log integration, and AI applications. The successful candidate will also engage with stakeholders, mentor junior professionals, and ensure high-quality data delivery across exploration, appraisal, and development projects.
- Lead petrophysical activities for offshore exploration, appraisal, and development wells.
- Design and oversee logging programs, including tool selection, vendor coordination, and real-time monitoring.
- Conduct formation evaluation—porosity, saturation, lithology, and hydrocarbon volumes—and integrate results into subsurface models and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data acquisition strategies and deliver petrophysical insights.
- Analyze advanced logs and develop workflows for evaluating conventional, unconventional, and tight reservoirs.
- Evaluate petrophysical uncertainties and their impact on volumetric resource estimates.
- Master's degree or higher in Geophysics from a recognized university.
- Minimum 15+ years of experience in Petrophysics domain within the oil & gas industry.
- Proficient in industry-standard petrophysical software (e.g., Techlog, Geolog, Interactive Petrophysics).
- In-depth knowledge of logging tools, acquisition systems, and core-log-seismic integration workflows.
- Skilled in advanced interpretation techniques, including rock physics, facies classification, and saturation modeling.
- Experience with complex reservoir types: Clastics, carbonates, and unconventional plays (e.g., shale, tight gas).
- Hands-on experience in machine learning and data analytics applications in petrophysical evaluation.
