About this role

This position requires a strategic thinker who can analyze market trends, consumer behavior and business data to inform decision-making.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Development: Develop comprehensive strategies to promote investment and drive production growth in the mining sector.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice on mining areas (exploration, geology, mine development & design, extraction & beneficiation, refining) to support regulatory frameworks and company strategies.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis on regional mining industry trends, opportunities and challenges – generate insights and actionable output.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with mining companies, investors and local communities to promote sustainable practices.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and implement performance metrics to track progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Thought Leadership and Business Development: Contribute to methodologies, tools and intellectual property related to mining sector trends and innovations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferably in Mining fields; MBAs preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the mining industry and overall experience of minimum 8 years in research and consulting.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of mining areas including exploration, resource evaluation, mine development and beneficiation.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, making informed decisions to optimize mining operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Teamwork and Project Management: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel extensively as needed.
