Chemistry Teacher: A Higher Secondary Position

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (B.Sc. Chem) or Master of Science in Chemistry (M.Sc. Chem)
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor of Technology and Education (B.Tech + B.Ed.) or Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a specialization in Chemistry

Job Responsibilities:

Lesson Delivery
  • Prepare and follow lesson plans, incorporating relevant resources and activities
  • Create a safe and productive learning environment for all students
  • Use effective pedagogical styles to cater to diverse aptitudes, learning styles, and interests
Student Administration
  • Maintain discipline according to school rules and disciplinary systems
  • Foster maximum student participation and assist in improving study habits
  • Closely monitor basic hygiene and health matters for each child
Classroom Functioning
  • Establish an effective learning environment through displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers
  • Nurture a positive and professional relationship with parents, providing regular feedback
Secondary Responsibilities: Administration/School Policies
  • Compile, maintain, and ensure confidentiality of school records
  • Adhere to and actively implement all policies, both current and future
  • Perform any additional tasks as requested by the coordinator
  • Conduct quarterly stock checks of teaching aids with the coordinator
  • Engage in professional development through internal and external courses, seminars, conferences, and events
  • Attend all meetings convened by the principal and coordinators
  • Ensure liaison and collaboration with resource persons and others
Work Relations
  • Interface with the Principal on academic matters
  • Interact with Co-teachers and other staff members as needed
  • Collaborate with Admin, Finance, HR, and Technology teams on operational issues
