Cloud Data Engineer Role

This position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data systems using Google Cloud Platform services. We are seeking a highly skilled cloud data engineer to collaborate with our team in creating innovative solutions for data processing, storage, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Ingestion and Processing: Design and develop efficient ETL/ELT pipelines using Dataflow, Dataproc, Apache Beam, Cloud Composer (Airflow), and other GCP services to ingest and process large datasets.
  • Data Lakes and Warehousing: Build and maintain robust data lakes and warehouses using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL/Spanner to store and manage complex data structures.
  • Real-time Data Processing: Implement and optimize real-time data ingestion from various structured and unstructured sources using GCP-native tools and APIs.
  • Security and Governance: Ensure data security, quality, and governance by implementing best practices for IAM, encryption, data cataloging, and auditing.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define data models, and deliver insights via business intelligence tools.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field, along with 3+ years of experience in data engineering, including at least 1–2 years on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Java for data processing and scripting, as well as hands-on experience with GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow/Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Composer, and Cloud Functions.
  • Soft Skills: Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning, performance tuning, and schema design, along with experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data projects.
