Job Title:

Senior Product Owner - Security Strategist

We seek an accomplished Senior Product Owner to lead the development of our API Security capabilities. This role will be based remotely, reflecting the growing need for flexible working arrangements and aligning with our organisational direction to strengthen security globally.

Impact & Contribution:
  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for API Security.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-impact solutions that protect our digital assets and customer data.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and communicate a compelling product vision and roadmap for API Security, aligned with business objectives.
  2. Champion a proactive approach to API security, embedding controls early in the development lifecycle.
  3. Drive product discovery and innovation using design thinking, data insights, and hypothesis-driven development.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to understand needs and translate them into actionable priorities.
  5. Represent the voice of the customer and business in all product decisions.
  6. Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, from backlog management to release planning and operationalisation.
  7. Maintain a prioritised backlog focused on delivering measurable security and business outcomes.
  8. Coordinate delivery across teams, managing dependencies and change effectively.
  9. Ensure API Security solutions meet internal policy, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  10. Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and compliance obligations across product workstreams.
  11. Provide leadership and mentoring to team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  12. Partner with Agile Coaches and Performance Leads to drive agile maturity and team effectiveness.
  13. Contribute to the broader product owner community through knowledge sharing and best practices.
  14. Track and report on product performance against defined OKRs and KPIs.
  15. Resolve delivery impediments and escalate issues as needed to maintain momentum.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • 10+ years of IT experience.
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Senior Product Owner in a complex, agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of API technologies, security principles, and platform integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  • Experience in risk and compliance management within a product context.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience working with remote teams is highly desirable.

Graduate degree in Computer Science/Information Technology
