Job Summary


The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible for the inspection and acceptance of weldments, fabrications, and machined parts at a vendor facility in India. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a global team.


Key Responsibilities



  • Advisement, coordination, and interaction with all departments to accomplish objectives.
  • Assuring provisions for the use of checklists, process sheets, travelers, and drawings.
  • Assuring presence during inspections.
  • Continuous travel between and work from different NOV and vendor facilities locations.
  • Determination of necessary hold points for inspections and tests.
  • Authority to accept, reject, and place on hold any item or operation where conformance to drawing, specification, contract, and/or purchase order is not being accomplished.
  • Verification of operations set up and/or fit up.
  • In-process inspection of all metal prep/saw, weld shop, and machine shop operations.
  • Visual and dimensional inspection of all weldments prior to blast, paint, heat treat, etc.
  • 100% final inspection.
  • Review of all parts and/or equipment prior to shipment.
  • Verification and acceptance of Material Test Reports (MTRs).
  • Work to complete any documentation required by customer, purchase order, or specification.
  • Perform NDE and/or dimensional inspection as needed.
  • Familiarity with and maintenance of PQRs (Procedure Qualification Record), WPSs (Weld Procedure Specification), and WPQs (Weld Performance Qualification).
  • Familiarity with and maintenance of calibration and calibration records of tools and equipment.
  • Maintenance of records as described in the QA Procedure Manual.
  • Maintenance of welder continuity.
  • Creation, issuance, and follow-up of NCRs (Nonconformance Report) and CARs (Corrective Action Request), while assisting with RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
  • Adherence and support of all company rules and policies.
  • Adherence to all safety and environmental policies and programs; use of personal safety devices as required by company policy; report of any activities that could be detrimental to the safety and/or loss of productivity; report of any injuries when they occur.

Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Quality Control, Welding and Fabrication Inspection, Machining Inspection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Good interpersonal working skills.
